In 2008, The J.L. Chestnut, Jr. Foundation was formed with a mission to improve the quality of life in Selma and surrounding cities by providing responsible and valuable philanthropy. The J.L. Chestnut, Jr. Foundation will be the premiere community-based philanthropic organization in Alabama.
Our Goal
The Foundation's goal is to raise the quality of life for present and future generations through education. The Foundation is also devoted to advancing solutions to community problems through strategic grants, research and policy analysis.
